ZENDAYA JUST WORE MUGLER COUTURE ARCHIVES

In the glamorous world of celebrity fashion, the trend of adorning vintage designer pieces for red-carpet events is on the rise, with notable stars like Gwyneth Paltrow often leading the way. Securing an authentic piece of fashion history is a rare accomplishment, making it a noteworthy feat. The recent buzz in the fashion sphere was ignited when Zendaya made a stunning entrance at the world premiere of Dune: Part Two in London on Feb. 15, showcasing Mugler Fall Winter 1995 Couture straight from the designer’s archives.
The creative force behind Zendaya’s impeccable look was none other than the renowned stylist Law Roach. Joining her fellow castmates Timothée Chalamet, Florence Pugh, and Anya Taylor-Joy, Zendaya graced the event in a cyborg suit adorned with transparent cutouts on the chest, arms, stomach, legs, and back. Opting for a diamond necklace and a sleek, wet-look low bun instead of the original headpiece, Zendaya radiated sophistication.
Following a series of striking poses on the sand-strewn carpet alongside Roach, who donned a draped gray coat, Zendaya swiftly underwent a wardrobe change. She slipped into a floor-length, cowl-neck black dress. Given that the silver full-body suit acted as a form of high-fashion armor, enveloping the hands, neck, and ankles, the transition to a flowing and contrasting ensemble proved to be a captivating choice. Despite the Mugler fandom expressing their astonishment online, Zendaya’s decision to resurrect this archival piece continues to be a topic of widespread admiration.
Roach delivered what might be the most memorable outfit from Mugler’s Fall-Winter 1995 couture collection to Zendaya. But looking back, Mugler’s 1995 show made history with a groundbreaking casting that included icons like Carmen Dell’Orifice and Naomi Campbell walking alongside drag queens and adult film stars. In addition to the iconic robot suit, the collection boasted other notable pieces, such as the motorcycle corset worn by Lady Gaga in her “Paparazzi” music video and the gold robot suit sported by Beyoncé in her “Sweet Dreams” video.
